Crash when baslining

Hi,

DOORS (V8.3)sometimes crashes when I create a baseline.
The error message is:

-R-E- DXL: <standard/baseline/createBaseline.inc:240> An unexpected error has occurred: doors.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module doors.exe at 001B:00901791

Backtrace:
+ <standard/baseline/createBaseline.inc:493>+

Any idea ?

Thanks,

alain

This is a known Problem with DOORS 8.3

When 8.3 came out, I submitted a Problem report with Telelogic.

My understanidng of the problem, as described by Telelogic tech support, is that the baseline will complete, and DOORS will then try to access Change Synergy. If you do not have the product, an exception violation may occur. This problem has not been addressed in any 8.3 patch. We still use 8.3 and experience this problem often. We have never had a baseline not complete, and have not seen any data corruption. When DOORS 9.0 came out, I revisted this problem with the vendor and the only solution that they could give is to have the Programs upgrade to 9.0. That is easier said than done. I do not expect any fix to every happen in 8.3, especially now since the Active support for this version will be ending in January 2010.

Thanks for the answer.
It only happens when I baseline some modules. The bug is probably due to a specific configuration / organization. I won’t try to find...
